HC Deb 08 December 1970 vol 808 cc102-3W
Mr. Sillars

asked the Prime Minister if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT those price increases which he claims direct Government reponsibility for reducing; and if he will state the original size of the price increase intended in each case.

The Prime Minister

I would refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave to a supplementary question from the right hon. Member for Huyton (Mr. Harold Wilson) on 19th November.—[Vol. 806, c. 1423–6.]

Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Prime Minister whether he will give the number of letters he has received since 18th June protesting against the rise of prices generally and the depreciation in the purchasing value of the £ sterling; and how many of these came from the Housewives League.

The Prime Minister

About 660. Information is not available on the number from the Housewives League.

Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Prime Minister whether, as the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is now refusing to take any action to control food prices, he will change the title of this Department to that of Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.

The Prime Minister

No.
