HC Deb 07 December 1970 vol 808 cc40-1W
Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Minister of State for Defence how many officers and ratings from the navy of the Republic of Eire are at present training at Royal Naval establishments; and if he is satisfied that no security risk is involved.

Mr. Kirk

It is not the practice to divulge numbers of foreign naval personnel under training with the Royal Navy. I am satisfied that all necessary security safeguards are taken.

Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Minister of State for Defence whether he can give an assurance that the officers and ratings from the navy from the Republic of Eire now training in Great Britain are not likely to complete their training at any of the Royal Naval Stations in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Kirk

Yes. There are no R.N.training establishments in Northern Ireland.
