HC Deb 04 December 1970 vol 807 cc474-5W
Mr. Bishop

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the estimated total expenditure on research into the causes and treatment of migraine in each of the last five years; and what further plans she has for giving greater urgency to these projects.

Mrs. Thatcher

It is not possible to estimate the cost of research on migraine as much of it forms part of basic studies, for instance on cerebral blood flow, hormone disturbances and disorders of the special senses, such as hearing and vision. With regard to the second part of the Question, I have nothing to add to the reply given to the hon. Member for Glasgow, Govan (Mr. Rankin) on 2nd December.—[Vol. 807, c. 413.]
