asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) what is the estimated effect upon rates in the Llantrisant and Cowbridge rural districts, respectively, of the recent halving of the increase in the rate support grant expressed either in monetary terms or as a percentage;

(2) what is the estimated effect upon rates in the Pontypridd Urban District Council of the recent halving of the increase in the rate support grant, expressed either in monetary terms or as a percentage.

The main effect of the proposed increase in the overall grant percentage will be to increase to 9½p in 1971–72 and 10½p in 1972–73 the reduction for domestic ratepayers of whatever rate is levied by the authorities.
