HC Deb 02 December 1970 vol 807 c395W
42. Mr. James Johnson

asked the Minister for the Civil Service whether he has yet completed his studies upon the location of Civil Service staff in Central London; and which staff he intends to locate outside London in the light of his regional policy.

Mr. David Howell

As indicated in the White Paper on the Reorganisation of Central Government (Cmnd. 4506), the first phase of the study should take about a year. The Government will then decide which blocks of work in the Departments studied need to remain in London and which can be located elsewhere.
