HC Deb 02 December 1970 vol 807 c409W
Mr. Wiggin

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what is Her Majesty's Government's policy towards the large-scale importation of foreign horticultural and agricultural produce from Eastern European countries.

Mr. Evelyn King

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will give an assurance that the recently concluded deal with Romania, permitting large importations of horticultural produce to this country, will not be the predecessor of other similar arrangements.

Mr. Anthony Grant

In considering imports of horticultural and agricultural produce from East European countries regard is had on the one hand to the importance of our exports to these countries and on the other to the need, to maintain a prosperous British agricultural and horticultural industry.
