HC Deb 30 April 1970 vol 800 c364W
20. Mr. Ashton

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity whether she will introduce legislation to make employers issue protective waterproof clothing to their employees engaged on outside work for more than one hour per day.

Mr. Harold Walker:

My right hon. Friend has no plans for legislation on the lines suggested. For the construction industry, which is the main industry subject to the Factories Act where employes may have to continue work outside in wet weather, regulations have been made requiring suitable protective clothing to be provided.
