HC Deb 30 April 1970 vol 800 cc374-5W
Mr. Roy Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what progress has been made in the provision of work for disabled people in Wales.

Mr. Dell:

Sheltered employment is provided, with financial help from my Department, for severely disabled men and women who cannot work in ordinary industrial conditions. In Wales, 1,240 are employed by Remploy Ltd., which plans to provide some 200 further places there over the next three years; and 315 by local authorities and voluntary bodies, with whom projects currently under discussion envisage about another 250 places over the same period.
