asked the President of the Board of Trade what proposals he has for improving trade prospects with the German Democratic Republic following the visit of two of his officials to the Leipzig Fair.

Mr. Mason:

I shall be removing quota restrictions on a further range of imports from East Germany from 1st May, 1970, and I will continue to take such other action to assist trade in both directions as may be appropriate.
