HC Deb 28 April 1970 vol 800 c307W
Mr. Anderson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will consider amending the regulations concerning the payment of supplementary pension for people over pension age with a view to adjusting the ceiling of other excluded income to 40s. per week, as in the case of disability pensions and part-time earnings.

Mr. O'Malley

No. Claimants over pension age already have the advantage of the 10s. a week " long-term addition " to their supplementary pensions. Any increase in the amount of income disregarded would benefit only those already living somewhat above the normal supplementary benefit level.
