Within the last two years it has been given fresh impetus by the institution of a sustained road safety publicity campaign costing about £1 million a year and the widespread dissemination of instructional literature, notably a revised Highway Code and a Driving Manual. The Ministry provides financial support to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and has good co-operation with the Society as well as police, schools and local authorities
