asked the Minister of Transport what recent discussions he has had with the local authorities concerned regarding the removal of dangerous litter on the M1 motorway.

Mr. Bob Brown:

I have had no recent discussions. Local authorities along the motorways, acting as Ministry agents, arrange for regular patrol inspections with a view to keeping the carriageway clear of dangerous debris.
