asked the Secretary of State for Scotland which hospitals in Southern Ayrshire have pay-beds; and what is their number in each hospital and their percentage occupancy.

During the year ended 31st March, 1969, the number of pay beds at hospitals in Southern Ayrshire and their percentage occupancies were as follows:

Occupancy figures for private patients, who are no longer accommodated in " pay beds ", are not yet available for 1969–70.

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the size of the orthopaedic waiting lists in the hospitals in Southern Ayrshire.

On 22nd April 84 persons were waiting for orthopaedic beds in Southern Ayrshire.
