asked the Minister of Transport if he will refuse to sanction the closure of the Central Line between Epping and Ongar by London Transport.

The London Transport Executive has not yet published any proposal to close this line; if it does the normal statutory procedure will apply It would be premature for me at the moment to express a view on the merits of the case.
