HC Deb 28 April 1970 vol 800 c298W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity whether she is aware that in addition to days of work lost through industrial disputes and the resultant loss in production, numbers of days of work are lost through workers absenting themselves to attend golf courses, race meetings and other sporting activities during week days; and whether she will take steps to assess to what extent this type of absenteeism interferes with national production.

Mr. Harold Walker

Detailed information about the causes of absence from work is not available. Assessment of the effects of any particular cause is not therefore possible.
