asked the Minister of Technology how many of the applications received for exploration in the Irish Sea provided for the participation of the Gas Council; how many for that of the Coal Board; and if he will now make a statement.

Mr. Harold Lever:

As required all applications for petroleum production licences in the Irish Sea provide for participation by either the Gas Council or the National Coal Board. I cannot at present give further details.
