HC Deb 27 April 1970 vol 800 cc255-6W
Mr. Blaker

asked the President of the Board of Trade what is the amount of voluntary contributions formerly made Western Regional Hospital Board area started in each of the years 1962–63 to 1969–70, expressing the figures as a percentage of the total cost of all capital schemes started by the Board in these years for improving or creating new hospital provision for all specialities.

Mr. Ross:

The cost of schemes started in each year was:

to the British Travel Association which will not now be made to the four statutory tourist boards as mentioned in his observations on the comment by the Estimates Committee in House of Commons Paper No. 71 1969–70.

Mrs. Gwyneth Dunwoody:

In 1968–69, the last full year of its operation, the British Travel Association received £211,130 in membership subscriptions and contributions. It is hoped that the loss of this income will be offset by contributions to co-operative promotion schemes.
