HC Deb 24 April 1970 vol 800 c182W
Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what cost-benefit analysis he has made of schemes whereby pensioners and disabled people living alone or being unattended for long periods may be assisted with the installation and maintenance of a telephone; and if he will make a statement.

Dr. John Dunwoody:

None. Such a study would be difficult to mount and of doubtful value.
