HC Deb 23 April 1970 vol 800 cc139-40W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity why no appointment has been made to the chairmanship of the new board dealing with wages, prices and monopolies; why, in view of the various official public announcements that have been made, she has decided it would be wrong to disclose what approaches there have been for filling this situation; and whether she will make a statement to the House of Commons before coming to a final decision.

Mr. Dell:

I hope soon to be able to inform the House about an appointment. Meanwhile it is the normal practice to treat all discussions as confidential and no official announcements have been made.
