HC Deb 22 April 1970 vol 800 cc100-1W
Mr. Malcolm MacMillan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the value of his contribution in the form of grants, covering loan charges, in respect of the Ardhasaig, Tarbert area (Phase III) and Dieraclett water supply schemes, respectively, in the Isle of Harris.

Mr. Ross:

£35,000, £27,000 and £33,000 respectively.

Mr. Malcolm MacMillan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when it is estimated that work on the water supply schemes for the Floddabay, Lickisto and Seilebost districts in the Isle of Harris will begin.

Mr. Ross:

I have asked the Inverness-shire Regional Water Board to send my hon. Friend this information.

Mr. Malcolm MacMillan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when work on the water supply schemes for South Lochboisdale and South Boisdale, respectively, in the Isle of South Uist, is to begin; and what is the estimated cost of each scheme, and the form of his contribution, expressed in money terms, in each case.

Mr. Ross:

This is a single scheme, estimated to cost £47,000, on which grant is estimated at £35,000. I understand that the Board hopes to make a start on it this year.
