HC Deb 22 April 1970 vol 800 c107W
Mr. Brewis

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what action he is taking to improve the efficiency of the Scottish Statistical Office.

Mr. Ross:

All the statistical services within the Scottish Office are being reviewed and reorganised. On the economics side, a senior economic adviser is to be appointed later this year who will, as part of his job, direct the work undertaken at present by the Scottish Statistical Office. On the social side, a chief statistician has already been appointed to co-ordinate statistical developments.
