asked the Minister of Transport what is the maximum weight per axle which the surfaces of A and B class roads will bear without damage.

Existing roads are normally adequate for vehicles permitted by the Motor Vehicles (Construction and

arrangements have not been repeated since 1965, but I will arrange for a similar analysis during this year's census in the July-September quarter.
