§ Mr. CallaghanA meeting took place last month between the Home Office and264W the chief officers of police concerned, who will take any steps which they think necessary to prevent breach of the peace. The police are in touch with the clubs on whose grounds matches will be played.

Mr. Lathamasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware of proposals to create an organisation in Great Britain which intends to act against demonstrators during the South African Cricket Tour and to resort to violence; and what instructions he has now issued to deal with this unauthorised action.
§ Mr. CallaghanThere is no need for instructions on these matters. The police and courts already have adequate powers to deal with persons who commit offences.
