Mr. Ogden

asked the Minister of Technology (1) what was the value of the National Coal Board's mining assets on 1st January, 1970;

(2) what was the capital value of the National Coal Board coal mines on 1st January, 1970.

Mr. Alan Williams

The required information is not available, but Schedule 1(b) to the N.C.B. Report and Accounts for 1968–69 sets out the net value of the board's fixed assets analysed by activities at 29th March, 1969.

asked the Minister of Technology how many coal mines were owned by the National Coal Board on 1st January, 1950, 1955, 1960, 1965, 1969, and on Vesting Day).
