HC Deb 15 April 1970 vol 799 c242W
Mr. Wright

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many local authorities in Scotland have introduced plans for housing treatment areas; and what timetable for action has been proposed for each.

Mr. Ross

In recent months local housing authorities have been considering how to comply with the general duty imposed by Section 1 of the Housing (Scotland) Act, 1969, in respect of houses not meeting the tolerable standard. They cannot be expected all to have prepared full plans by now, but seven have already submitted the assessments of the problem and the main lines of their plans, which I have asked all authorities to submit as soon as possible.
