HC Deb 15 April 1970 vol 799 cc239-40W
44. Mr. Eadie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many Crown properties that come under his jurisdiction carry with them feuduty; and on how many recent properties he has imposed a feuduty.

Mr. Ross

Excluding the Old Town of Inveraray, there are 942 properties under my jurisdiction which carry a feuduty. The buildings in the Old Town of Inveraray are of historical importance and are feued at a nominal rate to the Town Council. Since July, 1969, when the White Paper on the reform of land tenure in Scotland was published, I have created feuduties over four properties: two of these carry only a nominal feuduty.
