§ Mr. Bagierasked the Attorney-General whether he will make a statement about his policy regarding the salaries of judges.
The Attorney-GeneralIt has been agreed that the Judges should be included among the groups mentioned in Schedule 4 to the Commission for Industry and Manpower Bill whose remuneration will be reviewed from time to time by the Special Panel. An appropriate amendment to the Bill will be tabled in due course. In the meantime certain increases in the salaries of the Higher Judiciary in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland are provided for by the draft Judges' Remuneration Order laid before the House today.
