HC Deb 13 April 1970 vol 799 c186W
Mr. Onslow

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many representations he has now received from hon. Members, and from the general public, about pornographic circulars; and if he will make a statement.

Mrs. Shirley Williams

From the beginning of 1969 until the end of last month my right hon. Friend received 540 letters from hon. Members and 370 from members of the general public about circulars which were considered to be offensive. While I deplore the sending of unsolicited circulars of this kind, I have nothing at present to add to the reply given to a Question by the hon. Member for Sudbury and Woodbridge (Mr. Stainton) on 16th March.—[Vol. 798,c. 45.]
