Mr. Hugh Jenkinsasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether, in view of the collapse of the commercial theatre outside London, he will provide the Arts Council with a supplementary grant and take other measures to make possible the implementation of the recommendations of the Arts Council Theatre Inquiry
§ Miss Jennie LeeIt is for the Arts Council to consider the implementation of the recommendations, and as my hon. Friend knows they are taking active steps to this end. The question of a supplementary grant for this particular purpose does not arise, but of course the Government intend to continue their policy of progressive support for the Council's activities.
