HC Deb 06 April 1970 vol 799 cc11-2W
Mr. Rose

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what measures have been taken since 1965 to provide adolescent in-patient psychiatric units in the area of the Manchester Regional Hospital Board; and what immediate steps are proposed.

per million population were occupied in infectious diseases units in hospitals administered under the National Health Service as at the latest convenient date.

Mr. Crossman

The average number of occupied beds in infectious disease departments in National Health Service hospitals in England and Wales per million population in 1968—the latest date for which figures are available—was 44.9. As emergency admissions for infectious diseases are usual, a reserve of unoccupied beds is required.
