§ Mr. McNamaraasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will make a statement on the result of his negotiations with the European Free Trade Association on the subject of frozen fish fillets imported into the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. HoyAgreement has been reached on the outline of a scheme providing for E.F.T.A. exporters to observe a system of minimum export prices for frozen fish fillets sent to the United Kingdom from 1st January, 1970. Subject to the establishment and satisfactory operation of this scheme, the United Kingdom would accept the continued exclusion of such fillets from Annex E of the E.F.T.A. Convention and thus their duty-free import. Some details, however, remain to be settled after discussion with our own industry, and final agreement to the new arrangements must await their satisfactory resolution.
