§ Mrs. Ewingasked the Secretary of of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the effectiveness of police juvenile liaison schemes with a view to their introduction to parts of Scotland which do not have them.
§ Mr. RossI am satisfied that in those areas where they are at present operating juvenile liaison schemes are serving a useful purpose. The introduction of these or similar schemes in other areas is a matter for local initiative.
