§ Mr. John MackieThe area of agricultural land flooded by the exceptional tide of 29th September was of the order of 2–3,000 acres, mostly along Humberside. All farmers known to be affected have been recommended to defer cultivations until the soil has been tested for salt content; further advice will be based on the test results.
