HC Deb 21 October 1969 vol 788 cc202-3W
Mr. David Mitchell

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity how many workers are required to be involved in an unconstitutional stoppage of work in order to bring into effect the undertaking given by the Trades Union Congress to Her Majesty's Government on 18th June 1969.

Mr. Harold Walker

The undertakings given by the Trades Union Congress requires the General Council to take account of a number of considerations in deciding its course of action in relation to a dispute. There is no provision that a specified number of workers is required to be involved in an unconstitutional stoppage of work before the T.U.C. intervenes.
