§ Mr. Ron Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what steps she is taking to secure suitable alternative employment for the 50 production personnel of the firm of Ferguson Brothers Limited, Carlisle, who will be made redundant in the near future.
§ Mr. DellAll the workers affected by this redundancy are being given the opportunity of an interview with my officers. Advance interviewing facilities were provided at the works on the day following the notification of the redundancy,202W and some submissions to other jobs have already been made.
It is not expected that in general the workers affected will experience difficulty in obtaining alternative employment, but my officers will be keeping in touch with them to ensure that those who need further help are given every assistance.
