§ 67. Mr. Onslowasked the Minister of Transport whether he will seek to amend the Road Traffic Regulations Act, 1967, so as to provide for the payment of compensation for injurious affection resulting from a traffic regulation order.
Mr. Bob BrownBy common law highways are for the movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic and traffic regulation orders are made to ensure that the roads concerned are safely available for this purpose. In these circumstances it is not considered appropriate to pay compensation in respect of measures taken to ensure the proper use of the highway.
