§ Mr. Will Owenasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what action he plans to take on the resolution dealing with compulsory powers for local authorities to ensure easy access to all buildings for the physically handicapped, submitted to his Department by the British Federation of University Women; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. GreenwoodI sympathise with the objectives of this resolution and I have advised public authorities to take into account the needs of the disabled when planning new public buildings although I am sure that most local authorities are doing this.
I shall certainly take every opportunity of reminding them of their obligations to the disabled.
