Mr. Dickens

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will state the salary scales payable to private secretaries to Treasury officials in the assistant secretary grade.

Mr. William Rodgers

Such secretaries are paid on the Personal Secretary scale of £826 to £1,120 plus £125 inner London weighting.

In addition, allowances for typing, shorthand and audio proficiency may be payable.
