§ 40. Sir D. Walker-Smithasked the Secretary of State for Local Government and Regional Planning whether he will now introduce the measures necessary for making provision for the adequate remuneration of those elected members of local authorities with duties of an executive character requiring a substantial amount of time for their discharge.
§ Mr. CroslandAs I told the hon. Member for Orpington (Mr. Lubbock) in reply to his Question yesterday, the whole question of pay and allowances for members of local authorities is under review in the context of local government reorganisation and the local authority associations will be consulted on possible changes.—[Vol. 788, c.43.]
