§ Mr. Tapsellasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will inquire into the circumstances surrounding the departure from this country of Dr. Omar Muntasser, the former Libyan Ambassador to the Court of St. James.

§ Mr. LuardDr. Muntasser called at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on 9th October in the course of normal business, when he reported that he was being recalled to Libya for consultations. Her Majesty's Ambassador in Tripoli reported that Dr. Muntasser arrived back in Libya on 10th October.
In these circumstances, I am satisfied that no further inquiries into the circumstances of Dr. Muntasser's departure are called for.
