HC Deb 26 November 1969 vol 792 cc111-2W
Mr. Pavitt

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will take steps to preserve The Grange, Neasden, London, N.W.10 in order to prevent its demolition.

Mr. Skeffington

The Grange, which belongs to the council of the London Borough of Brent, is included in the statutory list of buildings of special architectural or historic interest. My right hon. Friend is advised by the Historic Buildings Council that it is not sufficiently outstanding for him to pay grant towards its repair under the Historic Buildings and Ancient Monuments Act, 1953, but the council would have to obtain listed building consent from him before they could demolish it.
