§ Mr. Orbachasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many houses have been planned by the Housing Department in Stockport in the past 18 months;, and, in view of the fact that 6.000 families in the borough are living in unfit houses, if he is satisfied that the council's programme is adequate to ensure that they are rehoused; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. FreesonStockport County Borough Council approved 153 houses in tender in 1968 and up to September this year a further 288. I am concerned about their apparent intention to restrict their future programme of house building. I shall be visiting the Council in the near future to discuss their problems with them.
