§ Sir Richard Glynasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will take steps to prevent horses no longer required by the Household Cavalry and the Royal Horse Artillery being sold for slaughter for human consumption; and if he will consider offering these at £60 each to horse-lovers in this country.
§ Mr. RichardI am looking urgently into what arrangements can be made as a practicable alternative to sale for slaughter and discussions with the R.S.P.C.A. will shortly commence. In the meantime, no more Army horses will be sold for this purpose.
