§ Mr. Ron Lewisasked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications if he will take steps to reduce the cost of television licences for the deaf and dumb, in view of the fact that there are no television programmes catering for the needs of such people.
§ Mr. PentlandI have great sympathy for the deaf and dumb but I do not think concessionary licence fees are the right way to help them. It is impracticable to introduce concessions for one group or another without creating serious anomalies.
