§ Mr. Denis HowellThe rent officers and rent assessment committees are properly carrying out their statutory duties. However, I would remind my hon. Friend that the Francis Committee is at present looking into the operation of rent regulation, especially in large centres of population where accommodation is scarce. I very much hope that anyone having experience in this matter will give evidence to the committee either about criteria to be applied or about any other relevant aspect.
