§ Mr. Denis HowellI have recently authorised improvements to the National Mountaineering Centre, Plas-y-Brenin, and the National Sports Centre, Lilleshall. I have asked the Central Council of Physical Recreation to prepare a phased programme of further improvements at the national centres which it sees as desirable, and this will be considered in226W the light of other requirements for national facilities and the resources likely to be available.
The provision of sports facilities in the Bedfordshire-Hertfordshire area is primarily a matter for consideration by the local authorities concerned and the Eastern Sports Council.
