§ Mr. Denis HowellThe maximum daily rate of financial loss allowance for members of local authorities is to be increased from> £3 5s. to £4, and my right hon. Friend will shortly be making the necessary regulations. He is considering what increases are appropriate in the maximum rates of subsistence and car travel allowance, and will be putting proposals to the local authority associations very soon now.
