Sir Richard Glynasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food which species of animals, other than dogs, have developed rabies in Great Britain in the last five years; how many animals were involved in each outbreak; how many had undergone quarantine; 213W and what steps were taken to alert the public after each of these outbreaks.
§ Mr. John MackieDuring the last five years the only recorded instances of rabies developing in Great Britain in animals other than dogs involved one leopard and one cat undergoing quarantine at approved premises, in 1965 and 1969 respectively: and one monkey at a research institute, in 1966. In none of these instances was it necessary to alert the public generally.
