HC Deb 14 November 1969 vol 791 cc159-60W
Mr. John Page

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what steps are being taken to settle the dispute at the London Transport overhaul works at Acton and other depots which is reducing the rolling stock available to London Transport, and causing great inconvenience to users who live in Harrow and other passengers by the cancelling of trains and the reduction of carriages on existing trains.

Mr. Harold Walker

My officers had discussions with representatives of the London Transport Board and the two unions concerned but were unable to resolve the problem. Following consultation with my officers the T.U.C. has had discussions with the unions, and I understand that it is meeting them again shortly.
