HC Deb 14 November 1969 vol 791 c164W
Mr. Leslie Huckfield

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will direct the Regional Hospital Board to conduct an investigation into the report by a member of the Hospital House Management Committee that rats and rat poison have been seen in one of the wards of the George Eliot Hospital, Nuneaton.

Mr. Crossman

The report has been investigated by the Coventry Hospital Management Committee and the Public Health Department of the Nuneaton Borough Council. which have been under contract since 1958 to provide rodent control services at the hospital. Throughout this period no trace of rats has been found, but poisoned bait is used to control mice which occasionally appear in some wards.
